Simply, these guys crushed it on Saturday for Avalon’s weekly nights, Avaland. After witnessing their highly acclaimed set at Insomniac’s Escape From Wonderland on Halloween, I was pretty excited to see how they would perform in a club setting. Large festivals and playing in clubs are different beasts and being able to perform well at both places you at the top level . Some DJs are better than others – for instance, AVICII can cater to a festival audience quite well because he plays all the big hits and his music is more fitting in a large atmosphere such as a festival due to its far reaching appeal. I’ve seen AVICII in clubs multiple times and his set is pretty much the same at a big festival – I don’t feel he changes his set accordingly.
Let’s move on to AN21 & MAX VANGELI. These guys have the ability to play to large audiences and also smaller club settings – just check the evidence below… The young duo consisting of Max Vangeli from SF & AN21 who is the little brother of Steve Angello (Swedish House Mafia). Already with an essentials mix from BB1 radio – that’s always a sure fire indicator that these guys will be sticking around for a while (Pete Tong does not fuck around).
Keep an eye out on these two when they’ll be releasing a debut album soon featuring Tiesto, Dirtysouth, etc…
