After so so much anticipation, EDC 2011 was a success and all the speculations about deaths, heat and also figuring out if Las Vegas would be a better location than Los Angeles.
Las Vegas Mayor Goodman stated the following about all the potential issues:
I don’t care what LA says, you know that,” Goodman said. “LA is like a second-class entertainment thing. We’re the world entertainment venue… It’s the entertainment capital of the world.”
“You do the best you can, but if people want to be idiots, you can’t stop them,” he said. “That’s part of human nature. You can’t make people necessarily behave by telling them to behave. But we’ll do everything we can to make sure everybody has a good time.”
“an underage girl could die any place where she misbehaves. Really, I don’t think, if you have 100,000 people, you don’t hold the developer responsible for somebody’s ill choices.’

On to the actual event. We only went on Sunday and I bow down to those who made it to all 3 days. On FB everyone I knew who went is STILL recovering. Friday and Saturday was dedicated to see Chuckie‘s Bday Bash at Marquee, Calvin Harris/Feed Me at Surrender Nightclub and Marquee Dayclub for Avicii.
There were countless other DJs set to play at EDC & on the strip but to catch them all would be impossible — some tried. I even had a friend send me an excel spreadsheet with all the parties going on for that weekend. Vegas hotel rooms were all sold out and ravers were running amok. EDM Madness.
As everyone else already knows the productions is absurd with the monstrosity of a stage, fireworks and other coachella-esque lighting structures. The vibe is certainly different from LA as some people still enjoyed while it was in the coliseum as it was probably more epic fitting all those people for the main stage, but the fact that it’s in Vegas makes it more of an adventure as opposed to just driving there and then driving home.
