Coachella 2010 is over and it’s on the the next one.

I know this is a late review, but I’d like to share what went down at Coachella.

It was the first year that they sold only 3 day passes and with no more sales of single day tickets. According to Paul Tollett, Goldenvoice’s buyer for Coachella, he wanted to take the training wheels off and establish themselves as a major festival just like the others around the world. Also, he just signed a contract with the venue (empire polo fields) for a ten year extension–with a monetary injection to improve road conditions and traffic flow! That’s good news for future Coachella attendees because that was a MAJOR issue in the years past.

Driving from LA to INDIO did not take that long considering there was peak traffic on a Friday evening, but the line to get in Coachella was insane. I probably waiting 2+ hours to get in the grounds and had to pull some hustle moves to find parking; a lot of my friends did not even make it inside because they closed the on site parking around 10pm? due to the lots being full.

When I got inside the grounds, I realized the place was PACKED. The beer gardens were flowing with people and there were thousands of people laying on the ground because they were tired from the events of the day. It was around 10:30PM so I wanted to check out Jay Z for a bit and then run over the Sahara tent to catch Deadmau5. Ten minutes before Jay came on, they had a countdown timer on the double screens which only added to the crowd’s excitement and anticipation. When the timer ran out, Jay Z had risen from under the stage and the crowd went nuts. I only stayed for a few songs because the crowd was getting a little too pushy, but left when Jay played “On to the Next One” and the screens went black and white just like the music video.

Then after, I rushed my ass to see Deadmau5 because I wanted to see him headline the Sahara Tent. I don’t regret my decision even though Beyonce came out at the end of Jay’s performance to do “Forever Young,” it’s cool, I like the album version with Alphaville better.

Deadmau5’s set was pretty tight, but the highlights were definitely the visuals. He definitely has the TOP OF THE LINE shit in terms of LED lights and with his mask…I have no idea how he can see with that mask on! Additionally, he should never take off his mask because he looks like a strange creature without it off…

To everyone, this video looks a lot better than watching his performance in person because it looks like his LED stage is floating and you can’t see the actual stage when the lights are not lit.

Also, if you had any question how dope Danny Devito is? Let’s not forget him owning some awesome restaurants in Miami, acting with California’s Governor as his twin, or even being in Batman. But peep this video! I bet Deadmau5 must be extremely happy he got to be on TMZ cause, honestly, he’s a bit of a douche and douches love being on TMZ.

Hate to admit this, but TIESTO fucking rocked Coachella…. I have never seen such a large audience of people dance before. He’s pretty much the only DJ to ever close out Coachella in the mainstage. He played the right tracks even though it was all of his own productions. Damn, he even dropped adagio for strings, lol. All in all, he’s probably the worst MC out there, if you check out some other video at at Coachella when he’s speaking on the mic, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.
